IranAgeddon Anyone?

The right-wing flying monkeys are beating their odious little war drums again. Several stories have circulated in various media outlets this past week indicating that Cheney and the Neo-con clusterfuck brigade is planning to launch some type of military attack against Iran in the next 6 months.

Nevermind certain complexities that currently exist which might hinder their bloodlust -- you know -- little things like the fact that they can't even finish the current quagmire they've bumbled us into in Iraq for instance?? Or how about the fact that our military is near the breaking point and they can't even provide them with needed supplies and protective gear in Iraq?? Or how Bush & Cheney's grand "Coalition of The Willing" which has had so many member countries withdraw support for Georgie & Dick's Big Adventure that it's now called "The Coalition of The Coerced" because the majority of the remaining countries are small 3rd world countries, with a token dozen or so soldiers here and there who only remain involved because the Busheviks have threatened to pull international aid from them if they leave. Christ! -- even the British, our most ardent ally is quietly making plans to withdraw their last contingent of troops from Basra.

One of the biggest neo-con nutjobs -- former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton -- was on the teevee this past week (Fox Noize of course) and the blustery little peacock boldly stated that not only does he believe the rumors that the Bushies plan to attack Iran, but he actually hopes they do it!

It's time to dispense with the niceties now. Frankly speaking kiddies -- I'm convinced that it's long past time for us sane Americans who truly give a shit about this country's future to round up all of these strutting, foaming-at-the-mouth neo-con, cocksucking idiots, put them in straight-jackets and ship every one of their stupid fucking asses off to the Hague to be tried for war crimes.

Who, except the remaining 26% of brain-dead Bush supporters, enabled by the bent-over taking it up the ass whores in the mainstream media and a handful of shitting-in-their-pants irrational cowards, think that the Busheviks have any credibility at this point or believes they are truly acting in this country's best interest??

Please don't tell me you are believing these sons-of-bitches and their Iran is going to take over the world scare-mongering. Don't tell me with a straight face that you put any amount of faith into the words of the same bunch of prevaricating ass-clowns who told wild tales of Saddam's unlocatable WMD's, imminent mushroom clouds, insidious ocean-crossing flying drones that could destroy our coastal cities, scary looking aluminum tubes and assorted other hair-raising tall tales about the boogey man Saddam. And of course, who could forget? -- the manly, patriotic-themed stories about how if we invaded Iraq, toppled their government and occupied their country we would be greeted as liberators by hordes of grateful, doe-eyed Iraqis so thrilled with their liberation that they'd be throwing flowers and candy at us and bowing and planting big, dry dusty-lipped kisses on our soldier's combat boots as we marched triumphantly into their cities?

The neo-cons have been wrong about and lied about every fucking aspect of this depraved little war of their choosing. The evidence backing that statement up is sufficiently available in the public domain to anyone who gives a rat's fucking ass about the truth and is not afraid to confront the ugliness of it.

If these hellish cretins that refer to themselves as the Bush administration attack Iran, watch how quickly the few remaining allies we have on this planet distance themselves from us -- and an isolated America is an America in much greater danger than ever before.

It's a surreal time we live in. The neo-cons, who are of the same polluted mindset of the morons that got us into the Vietnam conflict, have milked the tragedy of 9-11 for every ounce of uber-patriotic vengeance they possibly could and as a result their cronies are singing the old song "Happy Days Are Here Again.." in the boardrooms of every defense industry company in the U.S. --- it's perpetual Christmas for the war profiteers for as long as the Bush/Cheney junta is in charge.

The sad and fearful part of it is that a good portion of America sleepwalks through it all, either oblivious and uncaring or aware and afraid to speak up.

If you haven't caught on to what I'm trying to convey to you yet, let me put it in fairly rudimentary terms -- riding the coattails of American's fear which emerged from the 9-11 attacks, some of the most contemptible and hideous human beings on this planet are methodically nurturing the cancerous, hybrid seeds of fascism which they have maliciously planted deep into the fertile soil of the benevolent national psyche. And I honestly fear that the end result will be the end of Democracy as we've known it in this country in the not too distant future.

War Pigs Have the Power -- For the Moment That Is...

Playing around with Windows movie-maker, I put together this little clip for all my Bush-loving friends and family. It's from the heart.

I Heart The Daily Show

Jon Stewart and The Daily Show nail it again. Skewering Fox News toad Neil Cavuto for giving George Bush a rim job in a rare interview. Cavuto, like most of the Fox Noize screechers, simply looks like an ass-kissing fool here and if he's not embarrassed, he should be. Fortunately that's what we have Jon Stewart for. The link to the video clip follows.

Floyd's Waters Sings - You Listen!

I've always really liked the music of Pink Floyd. When I was in the military one of my barracks buddies was a huge Floyd fanatic and played The Dark Side of the Moon album day and night, over and over again. I actually listened to those songs so much, I'm convinced that they're permanently recorded in some unalterable cranial mimeograph deep in the recesses of my ever shriveling brain cavity.

Anyhow, when Floyd broke up, I kinda sorta lost interest in their newer stuff. For some reason, perhaps unfounded, they just didn't sound the same to me anymore.

Not to take anything away from the great guitarist David Gilmour, I think the reason may have been the absence of Roger Waters -- whom I never really paid a great deal of attention to but after rediscovering his music, I'm beginning to form the opinion that he may have been the actual philosophical and intellectual musical genius at the heart of Floyd's unique sound.

Anyhow, here's a great video of Roger Waters singing his song "Leaving Beirut" a beautiful song in the classic Floyd tradition and of course with the requisite digs at Dumbya Bush, the war-mongers and the religious nutballs. Enjoy.

The Bush Regime - Missing Hearts, Souls and Minds - A Portrait of Evil

To the 26-29% of Bush groupies out there -- peel your lips off George Bush's limp dick long enough and please for once be honest and tell me that if instead of the current brain-dead chimp in the White House, it was John Kerry or Al Gore, would you just nonchalantly shrug off the following instances of Daffy-Duck-like incompetence and/or corruption?:

200,000 gov't issued, taxpayer paid for AK-47 Military assault rifles and pistols unaccounted for with no idea what happened to them and because no serial numbers were documented, no possible way for the government to track them.

380 tons (that's 760,000 pounds for you math flunkees) of high-grade explosives, which had been under controlled surveillance of the U.N.'s IAEA prior to Bush's shock & awe circus act, go missing from a major arms site near Baghdad. It isnt much of a stretch to think that some of that material made it's way into a few IED's, the insurgents weapon of choice which has killed and maimed many a U.S. soldier.

And of course - how could we forget about the mysterious disappearance of somewhere in the neighborhood of $9-12 billion missing and unaccounted for cash. The money came from revenues from the United Nations' former oil-for-food program, oil sales and seized assets -- all Iraqi money. I'm certain the Iraqi people appreaciate that bangup bookeeping job George.

And last but not least, plundering to the tune of about $20 billion the Iraqi people's one natural resource - oil - a resource which if it were to be managed wisely by honest, decent, thoughtful human beings could probably be the one single commodity that could be a catalyst to bring the various warring tribal factions to the negotiating table and help end or at least temper the internecine warfare which Bush's idiotic invasion unleashed. But we all know the dark truth here -- the Bushes, Cheney, Rice and many of the neo-con scum they've surrounded themselves with come from the oil industry themselves. Crude oil courses thru their veins and is the lifeblood of their detestable ilk. Those of of us who inhabit the reality-based community never bought the bullshit WMD story or the imminent mushroom cloud fables and other tall tales that were shoved down the throats of the American people by a worthless, cowed mainstream press/media who failed miserably to ask the important questions - questions which if they'd been asked and asked repeatedly might have resulted in this country actually focusing on capturing and/or killing the real culprits of Sept. 11th instead of allowing the Keystone Kop Busheviks to veer off into the sands of Mesopotamia to pursue a Bush family vendetta and long-planned oil swindle.

Heckuva way to win Iraqi hearts and minds there Chimpy and Dick -- invade their country, destroy their infrastructure, torture their citizens in Saddam's torture prison all while stealing them blind and plundering their natural resources. How anyone in their right mind in this country can still support these royally fucked up assholes is beyond any measurable comprehension I myself might have.

Anyhow, bearing all of that in mind, it's telling and a tremendously sad and damning indictment of the media in this country when a comedian with a half-hour comedy show that parody's the news actually has more truthful news content than major media newscasts themselves.

I speak of course of the inimitable Jon Stewart and The Daily Show on Comedy Central.

The video clip linked below, while meshing the fine art of comedic timing with the austere format of television news delivery, actually manages to inform We The People about those above-mentioned fuckups made by the Bush administration in the mismanagement of their insane Iraq war -- major fuckups by the way, which our dysfunctional and neutered mainstream media consciously and cowardly choose to cold-shoulder in favor of missing white women and jailed celebrity stories.

Jon Stewart is simply goddamn brilliant here. He's funny and he shoots a Cheney shotgun load of truth right between the eyes of the limp and useless mainstream press and their corporate whore paymasters. If more people turned off cable and television news and watched Stewart's The Daily Show report every day, this country would begin to take the first steps on getting back on the path of sanity from which we've collectively strayed. You also might get a laugh or two.

High Plains Stormtroopers!

I have a friend (or 3) who believes my visceral disgust with the GOP, their leaders and their sheep-like followers is unfair and unfounded. However, this story from deep in the dark recesses of red-state America (Kansas) about how that state's Republican party leadership is forming a "Loyalty Committee" and requiring it's party members to sign "Loyalty Oaths" under threat of punishment or party banishment is not only stunning and frightening, but it also truly underscores all that is wrong with these conservatives and their ass-backwards, cult-like political movement.

Now I'll be the very first to admit, unashamedly, that I do indeed hold a deep contempt for the Republican party (in it's present manifestation) and most of their party platform and policies. Guilty as charged your honor! -- (for my last meal I request a box of Hostess Twinkies and a bottle of Cabo Wabo.) But seriously -- based on the level of damage these people have done to this country over the past 6 years, it's unfathomable to my mind why there's still a core group of around 30% of the voting public that still supports the GOP and their Goose-stepper-in-Chief George W. Bush. Although, when one contemplates the fact that around 60-70% of the people in this country believe in the existence of UFO's, Bigfoot and the imminent second coming of Jesus -- well -- perhaps it's not as shocking as it seems.

Nonetheless, as stated in a previous post, I have ceased trying to explain reason to these people. Being productive, informed members of the reality-based community does not interest these folks one tiny bit. The self-woven cocoon of fantasy, denial and talk radio/Fox News bullshit & lies, in which they co-habitate with like-minded zombies, serves as the official boundary line of their worldy knowledge and viewpoint.

But getting back to the original topic of this post -- this story from Kansas quite succinctly in a nutshell explains everything anyone needs to know about the modern day Republican party. Loyalty Committees?? Loyalty Oaths?? Holy Soviet Politburo BatShit! Why don't they just put on the brown shirts and swastika armbands and be upfront about it?? And it's not just the GOP bozos in Kansas -- the article says that the Republican Poobah's of at least 15 other states have implemented similar methods of purging the party of traitors who dare commit the hideously sinister crimes of thinking for themselves and associating with people of differing political views.

You know, all of this would be amusing in a cute, "Oh honey - look at the funny nutcases!" kind of way except these nutcases not only are serious, they've already proven that when they have control of government power, as they and Bush have had for 6 years, they absolutely cannot be trusted to honor long-established Constitutional law or respect the guiding principles of representative Democracy.

If a single party system of government that requires it's citizens to sign party loyalty oaths under threat of reprisal from shadowy party loyalty committees is what these people want, why don't they just pack up and head to Russia -- oh wait, not even Russia does that anymore. Hmmm -- about the only places I can think of that still operate under the communistic party loyalty over everything else concept nowadays are North Korea and Cuba -- Hmmm. Although obviously a dream of phantasmagorical proportions, the vision of a million rafts flotilla of GOP seig-heilers navigating their way to Cuba does bring a lump to my throat I must say.

The only other point I want to make about this story is the absolute, and starkly clear for those who are unafraid to see the truth, irony of what these Republicans are doing. Imagine the level of cartoonish cynicism required to promote and proclaim your party as the most patriotic and the party that will save America from the evil-doers who hate us for our freedoms (I would assume most of you who've gradjeeated clear thru the 6th grade or beyond would include the Constitutionally guaranteed freedoms of speech and assembly in your own definition of freedoms). Yet under threat of reprisal and ostracization they would deny those very same freedoms to their own people?

If that kind of mind-staggering hypocrisy and flirtation with fanatical fascism doesn't set off any alarm bells in your brain --- well, all I can say is that in the interest of having a future democracy for all of us to live in, you may want to consider putting down that bible or latest copy of Weekly World News, turning off AM hate-radio and Fox News and spend a little serious time informing yourself.

Mother of All Interventions: Saving Democracy

I orginally intended this post to be a rant against George Bush and Dick Cheney's commutation of traitor Scooter Libby's prison sentence after the cowardly weasel Libby had been convicted for perjury and obstruction of justice in the outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame.

But along the way I decided to instead post an intervention-type rant about how I've come to the long-overdue realization that my ranting attempts to convince certain people about how corrupt, inept, cowardly and deceitful this Bush crowd is, will in no way whatsoever, ever, ever change their opinions nor the opinions of the remaining 26 percent of Bush approvers who have a collectively subservient, cult-like view that their glorious leader George W. Bush is indeed is some form of earth-bound, American Flag-waving, celestially-begotten God who represents only "the good Americans." And of course they believe their God-in-Chief will utilize his rapturous powers to crush the other 74% of "bad Americans" (aka evil libruls) thus protecting them and the Fatherland - - er, Homeland - - from us "evil libruls" and their evil librul desire to placate the gathering horde of swarthy Muslims, who supposedly as we speak, are planning an imminent, mass invasion of the United States to convert us all into falafel eating, camel owning, Arabic speaking, Mosque attending slaves.

So if this post happens to offend some of you acquaintances, friends, or family members --- well -- I sure as fucking hell hope it does. For in my opinion you all consciously and willingly checked out of the reality-based community a long time ago in favor of worshipping some phony action-figure con man who whispers patriotic-themed sweet-nothings in your ear and comforts you by promising to be your protective daddy against all the big, bad bogey men of the world who want to take away your American way of life and destroy the Fatherland --er Homeland (sorry about the mixup, for some odd reason WW2 Nazi propaganda and Bushspeak sound awfully similar to me.)

The Bush worshippers routinely beseech their BushGod to use his divinely inspired Presidential appointment (to us sane folk who paid attention it was an election theft) and accompanying ethereal dominion over planetary affairs to force all of Earthly humanity to bow before his smirking-chimp greatness and grovel for his mercy and forgiveness for the heinous crimes of critical thinking, free speech, human rights, freedom of the press, open government, truth, justice or any other nefarious activities related to the practicing of the evil, dark arts of Representative Democracy.

Now, I have some friends and a few family members who are proud, card-carrying, Platinum lifetime membership holders of the George W. Bush-is-a-God fan club. I've ranted and raved, frequently Tequila-fueled, (it keeps me sane) for years to them about their horrible judgement, or lack thereof, and mis-guided devotion to this bamboozling frat-boy, circus clown Bush and his oh-so creepy circle of thuggish politburo komrades - frustratingly to no avail.

Many of said friends & family, it must be noted, actively suffer from the advanced stages of Slick Willie/Bubba/Clinton did it too!/But, but, but, but, Clinton!! syndrome. They've never gotten over their collective bout of faux moral outrage surrounding Bill Clinton and the infamous Executive Hummer (not the secret service, presidential transportation type Hummer.) And of course not having the cognitive, adult mental capacity to have recognized a political witchhunt for what it was and how it blinded them to the truth, it simply served to stir the restless dormancy of hatred lurking in their hearts for any and all who dared reject their infantile, Bubba-hate rage in favor of sensible, fair-minded, practical thinking. Try to convince these people of the FACT that the evil Clinton's approval rating on the day AFTER the hypocrites in the GOP Congress voted to impeach him was more than double that of what the current Boy King-in-Chief's approval rating is and they just stick their fingers in their ears, roll their eyes skyward and start childishly screaming,
La!,
La, La!,
La, La, La!,
La, La, La, La, La!!

And so it goes with the Bush-is-God worshippers on all matters small and great . . . Well -- an accounting is in fucking order if you ask me. And if it's the last thing you and I ever converse about re: this subject -- let this be the last rant you ever hear from me. Let it be said, let it be done.

So here goes -- if you got the courage -- stick with me:

No amount of vetted, documented data showing how the national economic prosperity of this country thrived under the Clinton tax-the-rich era will ever convince the Bush/GOP worshippers that tax cuts for the rich have never and will never benefit anyone other than the wealthy elite who buy and control GOP politicians as if they were simply another toy possession in their throw-away collections.

No amount of documented evidence showing how the local and national GOP organizations conspired to suppress minority and Democratic voting in the 2000 and 2004 elections will convince the bamboozled Bush-is-God lackeys that their party's actions were not only criminal but are anti-American, anti-Democracy and stand against everything they themselves purportedly believe in.

No amount of documented evidence to the contrary will ever change the minds of the Bush-is-God groupies that the bastards who attacked us on Sept. 11, 2001 did not come from Iraq, did not have any (as in none, nada, zero, zilch) connections to Saddam Hussein and were mostly from Saudi Arabia whose royal family have long been Bush family business partners and advisers and is also where Osama Bin-Laden happens to hail from.

No amount of documented evidence will ever change the opinions of the Bush-is-God sycophants that invading a sovereign country based on manufactured intelligence (lies), destroying that country's infrastructure, occupying that country, torturing it's people in the same prison (Abu Ghraib) it's former brutal leader tortured people in, fomenting civil war, looting their most valuable national resource (oil), and directly contributing to a civilian death count that would rival some of the war crimes charges that the Nazis were convicted of in the US-led Nuremburg trials after WW2 ended, were all horrible decisions.

No amount of documented evidence will ever alter the views of the Bush-is-God minions that his deceitful and illegal invasion (I don't absolve the Dems here -- they were fucking cowards to vote for the authorization and they should be ashamed) and occupation of Iraq has led to an unprecedented level of distrust and dishonor for America and Americans around the world and in fact has caused irreparable damage to our country's prestige and standing which will take decades to undo and as a direct result of that distrust and increased level of non-cooperation in the international fight against terrorism America and Americans are much less safe than they were before.

No amount of documented evidence will convince the supremely deluded Bush-is-God apostles that squandering the tax surplus left by Clinton on tax breaks for the wealthiest, cutting back social services for the nation's neediest, diverting tax dollars to corrupt private entities and corporate cronies to perform government work at half the efficiency and triple the cost has contributed to the largest deficit in this nation's history and combined with the astronomical and obscene costs associated with Bush's Iraq mis-adventure will all but guarantee that our children and grandchildren will be paying for this fuck-uppery for decades to come thru higher taxes and a shittier quality of life.

No amount of documented evidence will satisfy the Bush-is-God bootlickers that had Bush not diminished the role of FEMA by removing it's head as a cabinet-level position AND, not appointed an unqualified ass-kissing political crony (Heckuva job Michael Brownie) to run it that the level and effect of devastation, death and suffering in New Orleans and the rest of the Gulf Coast from the ravages of Hurricane Katrina would not have been as profound and lasting. Don't even bother trying to defend the Busheviks on this one my friends. Go tell it face-to-face to the victims along the Gulf Coast -- although you may have a hard time finding many of them as about 4,000 are dead and a good portion of the rest are scattered refugees. However if you are fortunate enough to find some survivors to defend your God Bush to, please call me ahead of time so I can come watch as you rightfully and deservedly get your sorry, stupid ass beaten to a bloody pulp.

No amount of documented evidence will ever persuade the hypocritical Bush-is-God dreamy-eyed fascist wannabes that the deliberate exposing of a covert CIA agent (Valerie Plame) who was actively working on tracking the proliferation of WMD's in Iraq and Iran was treasonous and an act in and of itself worthy of impeachment and imprisonment. Bush and Cheney did it in order to retaliate against Plame's husband, Joe Wilson, a former Iraq Ambassador in the Bush 41 admin because of an op-ed he wrote in the NY Times refuting one of the key rationale the Bush administration was promoting as a reason to invade Iraq (the completely debunked claim that Saddam Hussein tried to purchase yellow-cake uranium from Niger for atomic bomb-making). Now since I abandoned my initial intended rant re: the Libby commutation to rant about ranting, I will take the liberty to state a couple of very clear and basic points about this particularly sordid case and would love to hear any dissenting responses: firstly -- please don't e-mail me the Limbaugh, Hannity, (insert your favority right-wing pundit name here) talking point lie that Plame was not covert. The CIA themselves say she was as did the Special Prosecutor in the Libby conviction - Patrick Fitzgerald. If you wish to put the credibility of the Limbaughs and the Hannitys and the O'Reillys up against the words of the CIA people and Fitzgerald, you're a bigger fucking idiot than I imagined and you'll be condescendingly and rudely dismissed. Secondly -- don't dare tell me with a straight face that if this exact same case had occurred in an Al Gore or a John Kerry administration that every single one of you wouldn't have been marching down Pennsylvania Avenue, pitchforks and nooses in hand, led by Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly and the entire Fox News (snort!) pundit staff, screaming for the immediate arrest and lynching of the White House occupants. Hypocrisy -- thy name is Conservative Republican.

No amount of documented evidence will ever impel the Bush-is-God disciples to acknowledge the mind-blowing absurdity of the premise that illegal and secret spying powers in the hands of a power-hungry, unethical bunch like Bush, Cheney and the neo-cons would never be abused and used against law-abiding Americans. If you sincerely believe that, and unless you're a major-league moron/hypocrite, you'll have no problem then ensuring that a Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, or John Edwards administration will be accorded those same unfettered, unrestrained powers should they be elected and you'll duly keep your fucking mouth shut if they should so desire to use them.

Now -- I could probably add another dozen or so paragraphs here which would simply bolster my view of the infuriating idiocy of these 26 percenters who continue desperately to cling to some freakish, immature notion that George W. Bush and the Republican party actually gives a shit about them and is acting in their's and their loved one's best interest. But instead I'll just compile a quick bullet point list of some of the more important life-affecting issues, issues that affect a good many Americans, that the Busheviks and GOP have been on the wrong side of and either corrupted or attempted to corrupt for their own selfish political purposes.

Medi-Care prescription drug plan giveway to pharmaceutical industry

Social Security privatization

Government funding of faith-based initiatives

Stem cell research

Torture/extraordinary rendition/Guantanamo Bay

Terry Schiavo/right to privacy

No Child Left Behind underfunding

Walter Reed scandal

Underfunding Veteran's health care

U.S. Attorneys purge scandal

Cheney's secret energy policies

Stacking the federal and Supreme courts with right-wing nutball judges

Global warming denial

Environmental laws rollbacks

Sigh . . . !!

I wish that were the end, but it's not. But I haven't the stomach to list any more. For a really, really comprehensive list go here [click here].

In closing, even though I know I haven't changed a single mind amongst you Bush-is-God 26 percenters, you can take comfort in knowing that your slavish devotion and loyalty to a rat-fucking loser like George W. Bush has not gone unnoticed by your fellow countrymen. And as the Republican party and their intellectually and morally bankrupt version of conservatism is slowly led by their phony cowboy leader and his thug henchmen into the bottomless shithole of political and ideological irrelevancy, you can be assured us sane folk will be there to graciously and humbly hold open that shithole hatch for each and every one of you who chose to follow them -- and for as long as it takes -- to rid our system of Representative Democracy of the whole rotten lot of ya.

I'll leave you with one last quote from a famous American Patriot (unless the right-wingers have declared him a traitor too) Benjamin Franklin:

Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

And with that, I've said my piece and made my peace.

GOP scum push vile vote for Dems = death narrative

Thank God for Keith Olbermann. Saying what needs to be said and saying it loudly and with anger. Any fucker who dares question my patriotism because I disagree with the Shrub-in-Chief's ruinous foreign policy is gonna get a swift kick to the nuts from me. I'm sick and goddamned tired of these arm-chair uber-patriotic brownshirts wrapping themselves in OUR American flag and publicly accusing any and all who disagree with them of being traitors. In a very simple nutshell - these people are fascists and nazis and there is not a kinder way of saying so. It's time to fight back and here in living color is a great American showing us exactly how it needs to be done. Good night and good luck -- indeed.

Conservaspeak = bullshit

The local conservative newspaper editor got his boxer shorts in a bunch and wrote an editorial questioning the validity of scientific studies indicating global warming is a viable threat to humanity and that it is human activity induced.

Rather than address the very serious merits of the quite reputable science, which by most sane, educated and reasonable people's standards, is fairly exhaustive and quite conclusive, the hack editorial writer instead decides to obfuscate the debate with right-wing talking points and, more dismayingly, to level a personal attack against the dreaded Al Gore, calling him "hysterical", "wild", "alarmist" and "crazy" and accusing him of "crying wolf" and "playing Chicken Little" simply for daring to promote and debate the most widely accepted and credible views of the world's foremost climate scientists on the subject of global warming.

Additionally, in a pathetically lame effort to bolster his demonstrably weak argument, the hack editorial writer also bamboozingly referred his local readers to a non-scientific editorial in another conservative newspaper and also to the research of a statistician scientist, Bjorn Lomborg, who has become a darling in conservative circles by publishing works denying the seriousness of global warming as well as it's human activity causes.

Please read this hack editorial writer's article (see link in first paragraph at beginning of this post) and get a first hand, local yokel glimpse into the brain-dead mindset of the American conservative movement. I attempted to post a short rebuttal to Mr. hack editorial writer's opinion on their website, but as is typical of most conservative weblogs and conservative sites, they would not allow me to post a dissenting opinion. Here is the exact verbiage of what I wrote and attempted to submit:

Wow. Mr. Williams I feel sorry for your readers - specifically any who take your myopic opinionizing as gospel truth. The level of disinformation in your Gore bashing harangue is easily demonstrable and quite frankly appears to be nothing more than parroting of Bush administration dissembling and right-wing pseudo-science hackery. All that considered, I hold no illusions that you would be courageous enough to print a stinging fact-based rebuke of your grossly uneducated statements so I will not waste your time or mine in providing a point by point sourced rebuttal in response. Suffice to say the only comfort I have is knowing that you and your reality-denying cohorts are in a ever shrinking minority on the subject of Global Climate change. BTW -- statistician Bjorn Lomborg's credibility is seriously in question by a great many reputable climate scientists around the world. Might do you some good to do a bit more research before presenting him to your readers as some sort of expert on climate science - that's part of the fact-based rebuke I was referring to. Good day sir.

And here is the system generated response I received trying to submit that quite civil, dissenting viewpoint:

Some information you have entered may be considered offensive. Please review your comment.

So no - Mr. hack editorial writer -- what's truly "offensive" is that you and your rapture-obsessed, dullard audience continue to support and have faith in the liars and criminals who've brought this country the horrors of Iraq, Abu Ghraib, and Gitmo; the associated lies of WMD, Iraq/Al Qaeda complicity in 9-11, and mission accomplished; the negligence, incompetence and ethical & moral impropriety of Hurricane Katrina, tax cuts for the wealthy, lying about cost of medicare drug bill, corporate outsourcing, corporate welfare, paid media propaganda, attempts to hijack social security, and generally lying about nearly every domestic and foreign policy issue important to most Americans; and finally -- the criminality of lying our country into an unnecessary war, torture, war profiteering (Halliburton), spying on Americans, election tampering, politicizing Justice (U.S. Attorney firings), treason (Valerie Plame), and basically - deliberately undermining every pillar of the U.S. Constitution that our Democracy is based on.

For all of that and much more -- Mr. hack editorial writer -- you deserve to be offended and I for one will sleep well at night knowing I have offended you.

Thick as Thieves (and Oil)

"Millions of dollars' worth of oil is stolen daily in Iraq because of the absence of oil meters, a basic tool for preventing corruption, according to estimates by classified CIA and State Department reports, the Iraq Study Group Report , a former consultant to a U.S. oil company and a former State Department adviser to Iraq's Oil Ministry." [ Link ]

OK people -- can we once and for all drop the pretentious bullshit -- the feigned ignorance act which many of you have been performing and some continue to perform as a reaction to the reasons this country is bogged down in the middle of a protracted, unwinnable, bloody civil war in Iraq?? Many of us, including this intrepid, yet humble, blogger were saying from the beginning that the reason Bushco and Company diverted attention and military resources away from the hunt for 9-11 perpetrator Bin Laden and his gang of murderous scum to the invasion of Iraq and toppling of their ex-business pal Saddam Hussein, was simply good old fashioned greed. And the catalyst for that greed was black gold, Texas tea -- the gooey, toxic nectar that the Bush family insectoids thrive on and which courses thru their veins not unlike the buttery, black crude that the Bush Paymasters in big Oil pump thru their spiderweb maze of pipelines on the way to market to satiate the junkie-like addiction America has developed for petroleum products.

The "millions of dollars" worth of daily stolen Iraqi oil described in this story, along with the $8-9 billion conveniently "lost" by Paul Bremer and the cartoonishly incompetent Iraq CPA in the post invasion time period, has got to be the most brazen, outrageous, diabolical robbery in the history of human thievery. I unapologetically use the words 'robbery' and 'thievery' because if anyone believes for a nano-second that none of that pilfered loot ended up in the Swiss bank accounts of Bush family members, political cronies, oil buddies, corporate donors, and an unholy assortment of thugs and career criminals on the Bush payroll --- well all I have to say to you is look up the word 'clueless' in the dictionary and don't be surprised if you find a picture of yourself there.

A great many human lives have been expended and destroyed in pursuit of Bushco's damnable, cynical black crude heist. And with their beady, snake-like, bloodthirsty eyes set squarely on another middle-east oil producing country (Iran -- the world's 4th largest producer of crude), the pile of corpses and level of human destruction and suffering can only increase.

I remember a time when a legally-elected, sitting American President was impeached because he fibbed about an embarrassing consensual sex affair that he'd had. Lest anyone forget -- it was the hypocrite Republicans in their zeal and hatred for Bill Clinton who set that ridiculous and shameful impeachment standard. But since they did set that standard, and have never expressed any regret for doing so, I say it's long past time that we apply that very same standard to the Bush administration. The bottom-line is that while Clinton's cover-up of his Monica dalliances may have hurt the feelings of his family and friends and outraged the sensibilities of some of the more pious members of our society, not a single human being lost their life or their livelihood (on the contrary -- many right-wing nutcase media pundits made careers off of the episode) over it. Contrast that against the results of Bush and Cheney's deceit and lies which have mired us in the blood-soaked, Vietnam-like quagmire that is Iraq today. Can anyone with an ounce of decency and honesty actually state that what Clinton did was far worse and more worthy of impeachment?? If so -- what kind of creature are you? You're certainly not human -- because one of the hallmarks of the human species is the ability of cognitive thinking. If you actually are of that opinion then I can truly say that I am more frightened of those of you who think that way than I am of some tall, bearded Muslim Archie Bunker wannabe hiding out in a cave in Pakistan.

When the final chapter of history is written about this whole sordid affair (providing it is written by real historians instead of bought-and-paid-for Bush sychophants) the hammer of shame and vituperation will fall on the heads of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice and all of the neo-con hucksters, along with the fascist enablers in the corporate-whore media, who lied and manipulated a frightened, traumatized post 9-11 America into a personal, greedy business venture which did not have the best interests of the United States people and their Democracy in mind.

The Busheviks are good at throwing their distorted view of world history in the faces of their detractors -- but it is they who ought to remember a very vivid and well-documented part of history --- the Italian people's response to Mussolini after realizing he and his fascists had destroyed their country by siding with the madman Hitler in his equally mad plans of world domination --- [see Mussolini's fate at this link]. Karma can be a bad mother-fucking thing if it's coming back at you spawned by bad deeds. Indeed.

A Worldly Crisis -- Stopping the Fools & Fanatics

I can't help but wonder what it will take for the American people and their political leadership, particularly the waffling Democrats who now have the power and voter mandate to make a difference, to put an end to the Bush/Cheney neo-con madness in Iraq and the middle-east.

The latest National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) was released today, presumably less manipulated and cherry-picked by Darth Cheney and his bloodthirsty minions than previous NIE reports.

The new NIE states quite soberly that the situation in Iraq is in a steady downward spiral with little hope of averting all out civil war between the radical factions of the Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds. In other words, a semi-dormant, centuries long conflict which the neo-con fuckwads poked their idiot-stick into and stirred up with foolish vigor, is about to explode into an unstoppable conflagration -- a conflagration with our GI's smack dab in the middle of without a clear mission, and without a coherent backup strategy/exit plan in the event (probability) the Bush doctrine once again proves to be nothing more than an incompetent exercise in futility based on some imperial fantasy that Cheney and the neo-cons jerk off to while watching their private bank accounts fattened by the military-industrial complex (arms dealers, big-oil, etc.) whom they so slavishly serve.

What's especially infuriating to me is the way these pricks so cavalierly make the decision to shove more of our troops into this bloody meat grinder and then have the nerve to question and impugn the patriotism of anyone that dares to oppose them. There's something ungodly despicable about a bunch of cowardly chickenhawks who deliberately avoided having to serve in another manufactured, unwise war (Vietnam - a war most of them cheered on from the sidelines) during their generation, now sending other people's children off to kill and die in an equally foolish and lie-created endeavor.

At this point, I have to seriously question the courage, integrity, and quite frankly, the sanity of any politician, Democratic or Republican, who entrusts the interests and well-being of our brave military personnel as well as this country's national security, to the already proven liars and incompetent fuckwads of the Bush administration.

And with President Chimpy McFlightsuit (see accompanying picture above) now rattling his toy Star Wars light-saber towards Iran, a country 3 times the size of Iraq and who has a well-trained and armed military (unlike the de-fanged Saddam Hussein), it's more imperative than ever, for the sake of this country's future that we demand our leaders finally lead and put and end to the deluded plans of these insane bastards. If Bill Clinton could be impeached for lying about a fucking blowjob, then by those very same Republican-established standards --- lying about war and death and imperiling our national security ought to be the highest form of treason on that list of impeachable offenses. It's a no-brainer people.

Election Theft 2006!! Here We Go Again . . .

Debra A. Reed voted with her boss on Wednesday at African-American Research Library and Cultural Center near Fort Lauderdale. Her vote went smoothly, but boss Gary Rudolf called her over to look at what was happening on his machine. He touched the screen for gubernatorial candidate Jim Davis, a Democrat, but the review screen repeatedly registered the Republican, Charlie Crist.

That's exactly the kind of problem that sends conspiracy theorists into high gear -- especially in South Florida, where a history of problems at the polls have made voters particularly skittish.

A poll worker then helped Rudolf, but it took three tries to get it right, Reed said.
''I'm shocked because I really want . . . to trust that the issues with irregularities with voting machines have been resolved,'' said Reed, a paralegal. ``It worries me because the races are so close.''

Broward Supervisor of Elections spokeswoman Mary Cooney said it's not uncommon for screens on heavily used machines to slip out of sync, making votes register incorrectly. Poll workers are trained to recalibrate them on the spot -- essentially, to realign the video screen with the electronics inside. The 15-step process is outlined in the poll-workers manual.

Bull-fucking-shit!! [Click here]

A couple of things -- how much does anyone want to bet that this "out of sync" glitch consistently occurs to the detriment of the Democrat candidate?? This is the same pattern of "irregularities" that marred the 2000 and 2004 national elections. These sons of bitches have had 6 years to fix this shit to ensure that the "world's greatest Democracy" has clean elections it's citizens can trust. 6 fucking years and we're still experiencing "glitches" which once again will leave a good portion of the American voting public doubting whether their vote was counted accurately and whether the true winning candidate has been elected to office.

Secondly -- this lame-ass excuse of -- "oh! the machines occasionaly get whacked out of sync from heavy usage" doesn't cut it anymore. Diebold is one of the largest manufacturers of banking ATM machines in the country. Can someone tell me how many times they've pushed buttons on their bank's ATM machine and accidentally gained access to another customer's account?? And I would venture to say that ATM's are used alot more heavily than voting machines, and I base that view on the beat up looking condition of the machines at my local bank branches. Yet funny -- I've never heard of a rash of ATM machine "glitches" which resulted in money being withdrawn out of incorrect accounts. So -- if Diebold can make a foolproof, glitch-free ATM machine, why the fuck can't they do the same with voting machines??

Of course, us tin-foil hatters couldn't possibly be thinking it has anything to do with the fact that in 2003, then CEO of Diebold, Wally O'Dell, was quoted at a Republican fund-raiser stating he was "committed to helping Ohio deliver it's electoral votes to the President" George Bush?? Imagine that! The CEO of the nation's most prominent voting-machine maker making a public statement promising to deliver a key battleground state to his chosen guy -- Dubya? Nope! No conflict of interest to see here folks!! Let's all move along now . . . Will wonders never cease? And never mind the fact that 2 years later O'Dell was forced to resign from Diebold amid swirling allegations of securities fraud and other business improprieties.

As it is, it appears then that the lying, cheating fascist GOP once again has "the fix" in for the coming elections. Once again -- heretofore, accurate pre-election polls showing Democratic gains will be turned upside down in an "amazing" last minute change of heart by the voters as the Rethugs "miraculously" maintain their iron-fisted grip on the levers of power. And somewhere in Moscow, in a an unremarkable grave near the Kremlin walls, Josef Stalin, who once is alleged to have said "Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything," is smiling.
