Trivia question.
Who said the following: "I'm . . . not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions."
Jeopardy theme song plays . . . . . times up. I'll tell you who it wasn't. It wasn't former Obama pastor Jeremiah Wright. It wasn't distant Obama acquaintance and former radical William Ayers. Nope. It was made by Joe Vogler - founder of the Alaska Independence Party. A secessionist political party that Sarah Palin's husband Todd Palin was an active member of and which Sarah Palin herself has promoted and spoken on behalf of.
Hey - you know what? I don't give a shit whether Sarah Palin has been playing footsy with a bunch of right-wing America haters. But tell me this - can anyone with an iota of fairness and objectivity in them imagine for a nano-second that there wouldn't be 24x7 virulent rage and demands for accountability directed at Barack Obama if it was discovered that he had associated with a radical political party, who's documented party platform advocates for the secession of the state where he resides from the United States of America, and who's founder has so openly declared his hatred of America?
Yeah - that's what I thought.
I hate to keep harping on this word called hypocrisy, but it seems to be a very contagious disease amongst conservatives in this country. And these are the same goddamn people who smugly try to claim sole ownership of patriotism every chance they get.
It isn't too late for reasonable minded people to take a very, long, hard look at what they'd be getting with a McCain/Palin administration -- four more years of Bush/Cheney style governing where secrecy and bald-faced contempt for the law, the constitution and the opinions of the American people rule the day.

God Help Us All . . .
Issuing Fishing licenses = National Security experience. Well I'll be a suck-egg mule! Imagine that.
Absolutely stunning. These Republicans are some frighteningly and pathetically desperate people.
Of course even the claims of the numbnuts lackey in the following video clip is a complete lie. The NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) negotiates and deals with international fishing issues. Alaska's Governor has no part in it whatsoever. Can't these people tell the fucking truth about anything??
Here's a little tidbit. Citizen Palin never even held a U.S. Passport until this past year. How's that for international relations experience?
They're all such deceitful fucking morons. The mere prospective thought of them possibly being in power makes me ill.

Papal Piffle
There are times when some people just need to be told to shut the fuck up.
I'm finding it real hard to commiserate with Pope Benedict's anger over this silly art display. It's especially galling considering the fact that the clubby little organization that he presently presides over has been the largest known and organized child-molestation ring in history.
"It's blasphemous," says the outraged Pope.
Oh yeah Benny, go ahead and complain about the horror of that poor, crucifed rubber frog to all the kids who've been buggered and fondled by your pedophile priests over the past 50 years. Your faux outrage, will no doubt, illicit a bountiful wealth of understanding and sympathy from them.
I know this commentary will not endear me to my Catholic friends, but this story is just so inane on so many levels, it practically begs for ridicule.
BTW --- who gave Benny the power to decide what's art and what isn't and who is allowed to view it? Stick to saving wretched souls Benny. And a good place for you to start would be in the rectories of your own churches.

Desperation - Thy Name Is Fox News . . .
Hahahahaha! Fox News ass-hat Steve Doocy says McCain VP pick Sarah Palin has international relations experience because she lives in Alaska which is near Russia!
Hahahahahahaha --- muahahahahahahahahahahaha ... LOL! OMG -- forgive me -- but the GOP water carriers have really gone off the deep end. And it's funny, expected and timely. Couldn't happen to an ignorant, nastier bunch of fucks.

When Comedy and Truth Collide ...
Once again the inimitable Jon Stewart lays it all on the line and blasts a hole of truth right through the mindless right-wing noise machine.
The key observation:
“She’s (Michelle Obama) got to [prove her patriotism]! She’s a Democrat. She must prove she loves America, as opposed to Republicans who everyone knooows love America. They just hate half the people living in it.”
Fucking brilliantly funny. More importantly - it's the godawful truth.

Chris Matthews -vs- The Brides of Hitler - Lol!
Proper words fail me in trying to describe this. About all I can say is that it's two more wonderful specimens of your average right-wing GOP deep thinkers society.
It took every fiber of my living being to suppress the urge to reach through my pc monitor screen and strangle these stupid cows. God help us all if these twits have been reproducing.

Home Grown FuckHeads - Redux

This is a picture of two of the assklowns that they arrested in the alleged Obama assassination plot near the Dem Convention in Denver.
Now, I'll admit, my ugly ass should be the last one to be calling someone else ugly, but I'd be willing to bet, that if you looked up the word fugly in the dictionary, you'd find these two guys pictures. It's pretty convincing visual proof that there's some very serious and scary right-wing inbreeding going on in those red states if you ask me.
BTW -- kind of odd that a Bush Justice Dept. official issues a statement that there was "no credible threat" to Obama when the investigation has only just begun. Yeah --- I always breathe a sigh of relief when a convicted felon, who's just admitted to police that he was planning to assassinate a Presidential candidate, is found with two high-powered scoped rifles, ammunition, sighting scopes, radios, a cellphone, a bulletproof vest, wigs, drugs and fake IDs in his possession. Yawn! Nothing to see here folks -- move it along -- show's over.
But there's no surprise in that either, it's coming from people who a month before 9/11 were handed a PDB (Presidential Daily Brief) from intelligence agencies with the seemingly innocuous title of "Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in US" and chucked it aside to continue babysitting Jr. while he was playing ranch-hand. When confronted about it later they stated that it was just "historical information based on old reporting. There was no new threat information." Hmmm -- wonder how that worked out?
Anyhow, excuse me now while I go and buff my tin-foil-hat to a nice gleaming shine.

Of Double Standards and Media Hypocrisy

Lord almighty!! Can you imagine the media feeding frenzy and the phony, indignant right-wing howls of outrage if the headline on this Wall Street Journal article read this:
Obama's Pastor Sat on Troubled Bank's Board
Instead of this:
McCain's Son Sat on Troubled Bank's Board
Not only can I imagine it, I'd bet every penny to my name that this would be story #1 on all the cable news channels for the next several weeks, be dissected ad-nauseum by Rupert Murdoch's boot lickers on Fox, incorporated as an addendum in Jerome Corsi's swiftboat book on Obama, and be the cause of a great deal of premature ejaculation by right-wing bloggers as they manipulate the basic facts of the story line to fit their childish "destroy all libruls" agenda.
But, unfortunately, the headline referring to McCain's son is the actual headline. And far be it from me to make a judgement (I'm not because I don't know all the facts) on whether McCain Jr. committed any wrongdoing, don't sit there and dishonestly tell me that this article would be a ho-hum non-story if it involved ANYONE REMOTELY ASSOCIATED WITH the Senator from Illinois.

So Many GOP Twerps, So Little Time . . .
I keep hammering on this theme because until these people are either ridiculed into oblivion or shamed into obscurity, they'll continue their selfish, mindless onslaught against everything just and decent -- basically anything that could make America an even greater country than it already is.
So here you go my conservative and Republican friends. Meet Jonathan Hoeinig. He represents your movement and your political party. His asinine face and his asinine views are the voice of you all -- and frankly you all deserve him.

K.O. -- Countdown to Setting The Record Straight
For the most part network and cable news in America is a vast wasteland of pomposity, dishonesty and shameless corporate whoring and adds no redeeming social value to most American's lives whatsoever. Not to mention the fact that the media/press in this country has pretty much abdicated it's once purposeful role of being straightforward news gathering organizations acting as a check on the abuses and corruption of the powerful in our society. On the contrary, thanks to the likes of Rupert Murdoch and his revolting style of sensationalizing the news and aiming it to the lowest common-denominator readers and viewers, a presidential blow job gets more press attention than a president who lies his country into a disastrous, bloody war. Add to that the incestuous corporate/government entanglement factor and what ends up being lost is a media/press apparatus that is no longer a provider of vital information needed to keep citizens informed and supportive of productive public discourse. It's a propaganda apparatus not wholely unlike the old Soviet communist party news outlet Pravda.
Amidst this cable and network news wasteland though is at least one sliver of hope. Someone who isn't afraid to look Americans in the eye and tell it like it is. A digital-age Edward R. Murrow who stares down the wasteland establishment and their bullying on-air lackeys and pretty much tells them in his own sweet, colloquial way to GO FUCK THEMSELVES!
That person is MSNBC's Keith Olbermann. And thank the gods that be that he has a nightly show on cable tv - Countdown with Keith Olbermann. With all the right wing dreck on the people's airwaves like Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh, Savage, Coulter, Fox News, yadda, yadda, yadda --- Olbermann is a breath of fresh air in that dark, dank, putridly odoriferous dungeon of media whoredom commonly referred to as cable news.
Here's a sample of his splendid work:

Why Do Right-Wingers Hate America and Democracy?

On the heels of my "Home-Grown Fuckheads" post comes this lovely news item from yesterday :
Gunman Kills Top Arkansas Democrat (evil librul) Arkansas Democratic Chairman Bill Gwatney Shot Three Times In Party Headquarters.
Gee -- where have we heard this story before?
The Anthrax attacks in 2001 targeted then Democratic leaders (evil libruls) Tom Daschle and Patrick Leahy and mainstream (evil librul) news outlets. Coincidence?
A gunman opens fire in a Unitarian Universalist (more evil libruls) church, while children are singing in a choir, killing and wounding several parishioners. Right-wing, liberal bashing reading materials from hate-mongers Michael Savage, Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly are later found in the killer's home.
A 2005 U.S. News & World Report article documented approximately (60) right-wing terror plots that had been foiled over the 10 year span since the right-wing bombing in Oklahoma City in 1995 which killed 168 innocent men, women and children. Many of these plots were designed to cause mass human carnage on the scale of the Oklahoma City killings.
Here are some well known (except by those who choose to turn a blind eye and ear) and well documented quotes from right-wing heros and mainstream media stars:
"I tell people don't kill all the liberals. Leave enough so we can have two on every campus -- living fossils -- so we will never forget what these people stood for." (Rush Limbaugh)
Or
"My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building." (Ann Coulter)
Or
"I'll tell you who should be tortured and killed at Guantanamo -- every filthy Democrat in the U.S. Congress." (Sean Hannity)
Or
"To fight only the al-Qaeda scum is to miss the terrorist network operating within our own borders ... Who are these traitors? Every rotten radical left-winger in this country, that's who." (Michael Savage)
Of course you need not be a Rhodes Scholar to figure out that the word "kill" along with references to the words/phrases -- "living fossils", "New York Times", "filthy Democrats", "terrorist network ... within our borders", "traitors" -- in these quotes -- are all right-wing code for EVIL LIBRULS.
Gee Inspector Gadget, do you think there's any possible link to the aforementioned murderous events and the instigative, hateful statements on the public airwaves by the right-wing media stars and the subsequent, gleeful promulgation of those murderous statements across the internet and blogosphere by their brain-dead followers?? Hmmmm??
Which leads me to an all-too obvious question.
Can anyone show me the equivalent of a mainstream liberal television or radio pundit, with the stature and following, of a Michael Savage or Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh making similar death threats against conservatives? Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo, doot-doo-doot-doo-doot-dee-doo (Jeopardy them music plays). Ok. Times up. You can't do it. Hasn't happened. Oh sure you can find similarly vile threatening screeds on obscure internet blogs but nobody reads them - and for good reason. Whereas the words of the Limbaughs, the Coulters, the Savages, the Hannitys, the O'Reillys, the Becks, the Boortzes, ....ad infinitum.... can be found every hour of every day and at any time on just about every radio, cable television and newspaper outlet in this country. And make no bones about it -- these people do represent the mainstream Conservative movement in this country. For if they are not spokespeople for the Conservatives, then where's the public condemnation and repudiation of their hateful statements by the leaders of conservatism? Yeah right -- I rest my case.
And that folks, plainly speaking, is why I will not shut my mouth about these people and will continue to demonize them. For demons, logically observing, are quite deserving of being demonized.
