This "frightening collection" of right-wing fascists savaged and impeached a damn good President and leader for a private, consensual sexual affair. They cast the mold and defined the standard for what is an impeachable offense.
Can't any of you fucking stupid, pig-headed fellow Americans see the difference between a lie about a personal affair and a fucking dump-truck full of lies about starting a needless war, invading and obliterating a sovereign nation that was no threat to us, sending 1700 (current count) brave American soldiers to their deaths, maiming 10,000 others, slaughtering between 50,000 and 100,000 Iraqi civilians (many children), cozying up to a corrupt Saudi regime (remember 17 of the 21 September 11th hijackers were from Saudi Arabia) all the while bankrupting this country's treasury, drastically cutting social services, enacting tax cuts that primarily benefited the already wealthy, enriching campaign donating cronies in the oil, gas, timber, financial and arms industries, gang-raping the environment, and -- with their Stalinesque Patriot Act legislation - preparing to turn America into a modern day goose-stepping police state???? Add in an unhealthy dose of fanatical religious intolerance with pinings for Theocratic government and you have the perfect recipe for a modern-day Neo-Nazi society. Are that many of you people in this country that bat-shit insane????
If American democracy ends up on the trash heap of history alongside history's previously vanquished and self-imploded empires, it will be the same old story --- a people craven and cowardly, afraid and unwilling to stand firm and look evil in the face and to sacrifice their own few crumbs of the creature comforts pie in order to save the collective soul of their countrymen.

If it talks like a chickenhawk and walks like a chickenhawk . . . . .
Lest it be forgotten or simply not known --- here's a very timely synopsis of why America is, once again, mired in a needless war against a country that was no threat to us and which has wasted human life on both sides, bankrupted the national treasury -- saddling our children's futures with war debt, and diminished our reputation in the eyes of practically the entire civilized world. Granted - - all of that means nothing while war profiteers and big GOP donors like Halliburton, Bechtel, GE, KBR, and all of the crooked oil companies are making money hand-over-fist. If there is a God, there's a special room reserved in Hell for all of these people that have profited off of the human suffering of this evil war.
Speaking of evil -- here's the synopsis I mentioned -- a virtual who's who of flag-waving, bible-thumping, war-loving hypocrites that permeate the ranks of the GOP and right-wing media shills. Of course, they only love war as long as it's against a much weaker foe and as long as it's someone elses (preferably poor Democrats) kids doing the fighting and dying. This list is not made up. All information is culled from public records. In the end, if you find yourself surprised that practically the entire GOP leadership along with their media cheerleaders are a bunch of yellow-bellied, cowardly arm-chair soldiers --- then perhaps you ought to be very, very angry with your "mainstream" media. God hates Democrats!!
Reason #17,506 as to why I am not religious -- and especially not a Christian.
This story simply oozes with stupidity, arrogance, hypocrisy and and religious insanity. It appears that the core tenets of Hitler's Nazism has taken a foothold amongst the right-wing religious nuts.
I hope the victims of this pious jerkoff minister petition the government to have his church's tax-exempt status removed immediately. Then, once that happens, I hope this asshole's flow of money-giving parishioners dwindles to nothing and the bastard man-of-god's church just withers away to an empty, boarded up old building --- that would be quite righteous justice in this case.

American Fascism Watch: Chronicling the activities of Democracy's Enemies...
It's only fitting that my previous post on the rise of Fascism in America be followed up by a story that vindicates precisely that point.
An Alabama Lawmaker (my liberal soul shudders just seeing those 2 words side by side) has introduced legislation in his state to -- get this -- ban any books written by or about gays. If frightening thoughts of book-burnings and witch-trials immediately seeped into your consciousness upon reading that, consider yourself a normal, thinking human being.
In addition to those fearful thoughts, I am reminded of the famous, albeit seemingly forgotten, words of the Rev. Martin Niemoller written at the height of the Nazi reign of terror in 1945 Germany:
"First they came for the Communists, and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn’t speak up, because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me."
The "they" of course refers to the fascist Nazis and their evil program to purge German society of "impure" humans --- basically anyone that didn't think, act, believe, look, walk or talk like themselves.
At the rate the fundamentalist right-wing is consolidating power and media control in America these days, I honestly believe that it's just a matter of time before Rev. Niemoller's words will tragically be recast thusly:
"First they came for the Gays, and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a Gay.
Then they came for the Immigrants, and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t an immigrant.
Then they came for the Atheists, and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn't an Atheist.
Then they came for the debtor poor, and I didn't speak up, because I was fairly comfortable in my middle-class job and lifestyle.
Then they came for the liberals, and I didn't speak up, because I wasn't courageous enough to publicly admit I was a liberal.
Then they came to shut down what remained of the Independent media, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't courageous enough to admit I was a consumer and supporter of Independent media.
Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me."
Americans had better start choosing sides pretty damn quickly here.
I sincerely believe it's the expressed intent of these Democracy hating right-wing theocracy nuts to incite a civil war in this country.
They've already laid the groundwork for a calamitous world-wide religious war with their brutish activities in Iraq and Afghanistan, all the while with their war-mongering eyes cast towards Iran and other sovereign mid-east nations.
In the deluded minds of these fundamentalist theocrats, America and the world needs to be destroyed so that they can realize their psychotic, heinous biblical vision of Armageddon, which allows only the true believers (themselves) all to serenely float up into the sky and become holy tchochtkes of their vainglorious, vindictive God. The rest of humanity subsequently gets the torture treatment from their kindly, loving, forgiving deity.
This all starts with whipping the non-thinking people of this country into a super-patriotic, us-against-the world lather. Once their planted seeds of fascism have germinated and began to sprout and they eventually take control of the powers of government the military and the media, what do you think they intend to do with that power??
Think about it. Choose sides. Hope and pray enough of us choose the right side.

The same people cutting social benefits, including food assistance to the least off in our society, the same people denying the working poor even so much as a modest raise in the minimum wage in order to help them feed their children in an age of higher prices, the same people who passed bankruptcy legislation forcing Americans who've been financially devastated by medical or job-loss crises's to choose between food for their familys and paying off obscenely greedy credit card debtors.
The hypocrisy stench about this story is so overwhelming here, It's hard for me to even write about it.
If these are the "moral values" that the Republicans and the red-state bible-thumpers believe so dearly in ---- keep them the fuck away from me. I want nothing to do with such evil.

Who Gives A Ratzinger's Ass?? Not Me! . . .
Here's a few pretty clear reasons as to why I don't give a rat's fucking ass about the Catholic Church and their new child-rape apologist Pope.
This story not only infuriated me, but now that Ratzinger is the new Pope makes me wonder whether his selection was quid pro quo payback for his neat, efficient and loyal work in covering up priestly crimes against children.
This story ought to bother anyone in America who has even the slightest regard for Democracy and the basic safeguard against tyranny known commonly as the separation between church and state. Scary shit and if you ask me we ought to be actively pursuing legislation revoking the tax exempt status of the Catholic Church for sticking their corrupt noses in America's electoral process.
And lastly this story --- seems the old Kraut Josef Ratzinger was a Hitler Youth member and a conscript in Hitler's quickly fading Army towards the waning days of WW2. Of course, the world knows that the Catholic Church and the German people turned a blind eye to the Nazi genocide of the Jews in Europe. And lastly this story --- seems the old Kraut Josef Ratzinger was a Hitler Youth member and a conscript in Hitler's quickly fading Army towards the waning days of WW2. Of course, the world knows that the Catholic Church and the German people turned a blind eye to the Nazi genocide of the Jews in Europe. Only when it became evident that Hitler's regime was on the brink of a devastating defeat did the Catholic hierarchy suddenly find it's moral compass and begin speaking out against the deadly and horrific stench of death that had been accumulating right beneath their own goddamned noses for several years.
