LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — An antigovernment Ohio man who had had several run-ins with the police around the country was identified Friday as one of two people suspected of gunning down two officers during a traffic stop in Arkansas.
When this story first appeared in the national media the day before yesterday, I was perusing the online comments sections of a few major internet news sites and they were flooded with right-wing/teabagger/xenophobe/moron/assklown comments screaming about how it was them thar damn 'ee-leegals' that 'kilt' those po-leece men and that is why we need to call out the National Guard to round up all the mexicans (to the brain dead wingnuts - all illegal immigrants are from Mexico) cuz them thar ee-leegals is killin' us, takin' our best jobs (snicker), all livin' high off the hog on welfare and spreadin' leprosy.
Of course now that the true story is coming out that the guy who gunned down the two Arkansas policemen in cold blood is actually a very white, very conservative, very anti-government loon you won't hear a fucking peep out of the loser wingnut crowd.
You know -- it's getting to the so, so very tired point that every time one of these conservative nut cases starts ranting about the evil 'gubmint, the evil Obama, the evil libruls, the evil librul media, the evil immigrants, the evil Pelosi, the evil Reid, the evil Democrats, the evil this, that and another --- I just want to get right up in their beet red faces and scream at the top of my lungs to them -
Yeah -- I know it's harsh. But it needs to be said. These people and their warped views are a cancer on the national social fabric. I've long ago stopped empathizing with them on any meaningful level and they themselves bear the entire blame for it.
I'm not sure what the solution is. With signs that a prolonged economic recession is in the works, no sign of the joblessness situation improving, and the black guy still President for the next 2 and a half years, I've resigned myself to the depressing reality that the right-wing flying monkeys will be a pus oozing anal wart on America's ass for the forseeable future.
