Lone Wolf McQuaalude Belcheth . . . .

Having Chuck Norris be a spokesman for your political party/political movement has to be the ultimate symbol of self-immolation.

I'm still trying to decide which is the most hilarious excerpt from this interview. The nominees are:
1. Chuck's pants wetting obsession over the wholly unrealistic fear that "third world" countries are tricking America out of it's money.

2. Chuck's faux horror at the prospect of third world countries taking money out of the mouths of America's impoverished. All the more hilarious since it's always been right-wing conservatives like Chuck who've fought tooth and nail against any government social policies intended to alleviate the suffering of America's poor and underprivileged.

3. Chuck's bizarre claim that provisions in the health care bill will allow the government to invade American's homes and dictate how our children are reared.

4. And lastly, Chuck's ridiculously juvenile claim that Obama is laying the groundwork for a "one world government." A favorite of the black helicopter crowd.

Is it truly a wonder then that the brand name and popularity levels of the GOP are tanking when the primary spokespeople for your movement are Chuck Norris, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin??

"When One World Government comes..."

That's an unfathomable leap of faith you are making there. Looking back at human history, and not even distant history, just this past century alone, it's difficult to consider humanity agreeing en masse to anything resembling a "one world government", much less a common international language. I'm not dismissing the intrigue surrounding such an ideal, only stating that all evidence to date indicates it's not anything the majority of people on this planet yearn for or are even ready for for that matter. Unfortunately it would probably require some sort of planetary catastrophe (global climate change?) to prompt humanity to go down such a path. And if that's the case, will the tradeoff be worth it?
