Maher Rules . . . .

Sometimes Bill Maher meanders off into Libertarian la-la land and when he does, it's difficult for me to watch him. Other times, however, he's devastatingly spot on with his witty analysis as he is in this clip.

Saturday Video Blogging -- with The Go Go Gophers

Take a deep breath and set aside for the moment the obvious social/racial stereotyping of the period (late 1960's) in this cartoon and just have a laugh. The Go Go Gophers provided me with endless hours of entertainment when I was a kid and that was good enough for my then as yet uncorrupted and still innocent mind. Enough said.

Pssst! I'll let you in on a secret --- I always rooted for the injuns to win and humiliate the soldiers! And they never disappointed. Lol!

Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!

If I were to do an educational write-up on how to most effectively deal with hateful, xenophobic, loudmouth, war loving, war spouting, lying conservative chickenhawks, this video clip of Daily Kos founder Markos Moulitsas bitch-slapping former GOP Congressman Tom Tancredo would be example #1 in that lesson plan.

And true to form, the end result was predictable. Tancredo, upon getting a fistful of truth shoved up his snout, rips his microphone off, throws it down and storms out of the studio just like the big fucking cry-baby he is.

Priceless.

Thanks Markos for showing the other wimpy Dems and Progressives how simple it is to stand up to these assholes.

Why I Hate Right-wingers . . . vol. 1,962

An article out on the right-wing website World Net Daily is stating that the Ft. Hood killer Malik Hasan "advised Obama transition."

I love it when the conservanuts try to play Six Degrees of Barack Obama (based on actual game of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.) It truly highlights how psychotic they are.

Anyhow, the wingnut game of Six Degrees of Barack Obama works something like this: Kevin Bacon was in the movie Footloose. Chris Penn was in the movie Footloose too. Chris Penn was in the movie Rush Hour. Jackie Chan was in the movie Rush Hour. Jackie Chan was born in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a sovereign territory of China. China is a communist country. Barack Obama is going to visit China November 15-18. Therefore -- Barack Obama is a communist.

See how simple that is?

A Pathetic Postscript to Yesterday's Tea Party . . .

Apparently there was a "revolution" in Washington, D.C. yesterday led by that fearless warrior Congresswoman from Minnesota Michele Bachmann. And I missed it! Darn! -- I love a good revolution - although, truth be told, I usually just end up sitting around in the beer garden quaffing some suds, eatin' some hot wings and just shooting the bull with my fellow revolutionaries. Lol.

Anyhow . . .

Shortly after noon, Bachmann led a contingent of GOP right-wingers, including Virginia Foxx (R-NC), Rep Steve King (R-IA), Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) and House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH), to greet the teabaggers waving their health care reform is like the Holocaust signs.

Bachmann declared that “revolution” was a good thing.

The event was both comical and a sad spectacle of the current state of the Republican Party. Rep. Akin stood to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, first declaring that it “drives liberals crazy,” and then proceeded to botch it, by forgetting to say “indivisible” before “with liberty, and justice for all.”

Rep. Boehner with his day-glow orange tan then stood to show his patriotism, by holding up a pocket-size copy of the constitution, only to start reciting from the Declaration of Independence. Boehner said, he would pledge to “stand here with our Founding Fathers, who wrote in the pre-amble: ‘We hold these truths to be self evident …” Oh, boy.

According to Politico, Michael Steel explained Boehner’s gaffe by saying, “Both texts are vital to the liberty beloved by every American.” Ok, then.

And that pretty much sums up how shallow your modern day conservative movement is doesn't it? They love to wrap themselves in the flag and the Constitution and the Pledge of Allegiance and make lofty proclamations about how they, and only they, are the real Americans and the bestest of all the best patriots.

However the reality based truth of the matter is this --- The Constitution, The Pledge of Allegiance, The Declaration of Independence --- the flag --- are all nothing more than stage props to these phony assholes. Words like "revolution" and "liberty" are mere talking points.

As the writer of this article so aptly observed -- what a sad and comical spectacle the Republican party has become. And they owe it all to the likes of Michele Bachmann, Steve King, Virginia Foxx, and Todd Akin along with media support from Rush, Hannity, Beck, O'Reilly, Coulter, Fox News ---- and with a big assist from a gutless mainstream media that is so beholden to corporate interests that they have ceased to be a relevant cog in the machinery of a well functioning Democracy.

Yep -- sad and comical.

Just saying . . .

Tellers of Tall Tales They Are . . . .

The conserva-klowns are claiming that there were "about a million" patriotic Teabaggers fighting for freedom on the steps of the Capitol today.

That almost, but not quite, matches up with the Capitol Hill PD's assessment of around 4000. IMFAO!

Oh -- and as it so happens there's a couple of wide-angle photos of the colossal gathering (darn that meddling modern technology!) - check 'em out:

and

Yep -- looks like a million to me. Oh wait . . . I was looking at the wrong picture. I was looking at a picture of Obama's pre-inauguration - IMFAO!

As I've noted previously -- if anything, the conservanuts do provide an endless supply of blogging comedic material. Ya gotta love 'em for that. Lol.

----k

Hate to say I told you so . . . . . but I told you so . . .

Well -- I most certainly nailed that one didn't I?

Within nano-seconds of the story hitting the cable tv airwaves, the right-wing nuts were foaming at the mouth all over the intertubes claiming that the obviously tragic Ft. Hood shooting was a coordinated, terrorist Jihad incident.

And not content to wait until all the facts have been disseminated, the conservatard keyboard kommandos are all geared up for war and ready go in to battle against the evil A-rab enemy. Of course the laughable truth is, the vast majority of these flag-waving conservative loudmouths are much too cowardly to actually go down to their nearest Army or Marines recruiting station to sign up for Mid-East combat duty, but why let annoying little things like true honor and courage ruin some good political theatrics right?

Anyhow, irony of all irony -- Fox News' Shepard Smith interviewed a cousin of Nadal Malik Hasan who basically states that he was not a Muslim convert. He was American born and educated and brought up in the faith of his family - Muslim. The cousin also stated that Hasan had grown increasingly agitated recently by ongoing verbal and mental abuse from fellow soldiers over his Muslim faith as well as an incident where fellow soldiers had vandalized his vehicle - with some sort of message aimed at his faith. Apparently he was attempting to get out of the military because of what he felt was a hostile environment.

So -- as horrible and senseless as the shooting act was, the right-wing nuts wet dream of it being a coordinated, Osama Bin-Laden/Al Qaeda sponsored, Jihadi attack is just that -- their wet dream. Turns out the truth is much simpler and perhaps even more disturbing. It appears he might have just been some Army soldier who had some rotten shit going on in his life and who may have been badgered and bullied into snapping. And as the writer of the link above notes -- just look back at Columbine to see a clear example of what happens when bullied people go over the edge.

----k

Ft. Hood tragedy

**UPDATE** :Officials are reporting that the 2 other suspects that were arrested have been released and that the shooter appears to have acted alone. They also report that the shooter was a Major who worked in the Army as a psychiatrist specializing, ironically, in traumatic stress conditions who was given a recent poor performance review and also was upset about pending deployment orders sending him to Iraq.

Well -- that kinda changes the whole post-incident analysis dynamic a bit if you ask me. Sounds like the guy just fucking snapped. Still though, look for the right-wing nuts to embellish the story (due to the guy's name) into some sort of Jihadi revenge type of deal. Anything to feed the hungry hate maw of their zombie followers.

****************************************************************************

I'm witholding any extended commentary on this incident pending additional details from military and civilian police authorities.

One early report
has the primary shooter (who reportedly was shot dead by civilian police) as having the name of Major Malik Nadal Hasan. Two other soldiers are being held in custody as being potential accomplices and their names have yet to be released. Purportedly all 3 were in the process of deploying to Iraq.

I can say without a shadow of a doubt that based on that one tidbit of unconfirmed information alone, the right-wing blogosphere is at this very moment in the throes of spastic, blood curdling rage and gearing up their mighty bullshit wurlitzer to politicize the tragedy before the dead have even gone into rigor mortis.

I guess it's behavior that is to be expected though from the great minds who earlier today in our nation's capitol were running around with signs comparing health care reform efforts to the Nazi Holocaust.

Anyhow -- setting all of that idiocy aside, the sad reality is that the Ft. Hood incident is undoubtedly a senseless, horrific tragedy on many human levels.

And although I have no confidence that it will occur, let's hope that the assklowns on the right for once will demonstrate a sliver of common decency and restrain themselves and their rabid keyboard kommandos from manipulating the event for their own ideological gain.

Freedom Fighters or Anarchists?

Oh this is rich:

U.S. Capitol Police arrested 10 people this afternoon after the Capitol Hill Tea Party crowd stormed Congressional office buildings.

Sgt. Kimberly Schneider, public information office for the Capitol Police, told TPMDC the arrests happened in the Cannon House building as tea partiers attempted to protest Speaker Nancy Pelosi about health care.

They were charged with unlawful entry (entering a Congressional office and refusing to leave when told to do so) and/or disorderly conduct (yelling in the hallway outside an office) at Room 235 in the Cannon House Office Building.

Room 235 is Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office for district business, not where she conducts her duties as Speaker. That's handled at an office in the Capitol building.

... protesters in the crowd watching the arrests were furious. They shouted "Let them go!" and one man yelled at the police that "Martin Luther King" was being dishonored and shouted "Letter from Birmingham Jail!"

One woman told officers they were "shameful."

"This is America, this is not the Soviet Union," one woman said.

Apparently -- when liberals engage in political protest it's anarchy and lawlessness. When Tea-baggers do it it's patriotism and freedom fighting!

I guess we progressives need to get hold of the Tea-Bagger's handbook of protesting to see how the "real" Americans exercise their first amendment rights.

WTF???????

Oh yeah Tea-baggers --- because nothing screams more credibility, reason and sanity about your movement than equating Hitler's slaughter of 6 million European Jews to the nominal effort to reform America's broken and corrupt health care system in order to provide basic, affordable health care to more American citizens.

What the fuck is wrong with these people's minds?? Seriously.

That picture says everthing about how the average Tea-bagger's mind works:

HEALTH CARE REFORM = MURDERING MILLIONS OF JEWS IN GAS CHAMBERS

God, I'm so sick of these fuckheads. Really I am.

Tea-Baggers Storm Capitol! Hunt for Pelosi Begins! Lol.

The red-faced (or red necked - or both) Teabaggers are forming a posse on the steps of the nation's capitol this morning. They're in hot pursuit of a notorious outlaw and perennial right-wing villain -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Apparently Pelosi has been fingered as the miserable varmint solely responsible for the current economic crisis in America and the Teabaggers are on the hunt and looking to have a good 'ol fashioned necktie party. IMAO.

The reason I mercilessly mock the tea-baggers is quite uncomplicated.

These fuck's voices were nowhere to be heard while the GOP (6 years of control of all 3 branches of government under Bush) and their heroes George W. Bush and Dick Cheney took a $236 billion surplus left by Bill Clinton, snoozed while Al Qaeda attacked us, turned around and attacked the wrong country based on trumped up intelligence, and spent not only Clinton's surplus with their disastrous Iraq adventure, but then mortgaged and re-mortgaged this country's financial future by expanding the war in Iraq while simultaneously getting us mired in another costly, unwinnable conflict in Afghanistan.

Add to that the fact that the Teabagger's heroes stood by haplessly and watched as a major American city drowned in a hurricane, passed major tax cuts during a time of war that went almost exclusively to the wealthiest elites, fought tooth and nail to oppose any oversight of the Wall Street robber barons and their accomplices in crime the big-money bankers, and basically viewed the Constitution as a roll of toilet paper that was used to wipe the neo-con shit from their fascist sphincters all in the name of fighting "the global war on terror."

And yet, to hear the Teabaggers tell it, the current state of economic woe in this country is entirely the fault of that that evil, Murrika-hatin' Nancy Pelosi for having the unmitigated gall to propose a public (Medicare) option in the health care reform bill whose cost over 10 years will be a fraction of the taxpayer money that has already spent down the shit-hole on Bush's tax cuts, Iraq, Afghanistan and Bush's Wall Street bailouts.

To sum it up -- the level of rank stupidity that is required to believe the buffoonish nonsense being spewed by the Teabaggers necessitates that one suspend belief in grounded concepts like truth and facts and make the suicidal leap of faith from reality-based thinking to fantasy and delusion.

And therefore I mock the Teabaggers and will continue to mock them and will enjoy mocking them. And if they don't like it I'll double up on the amount of mockery. And if I die tomorrow, I'll fucking mock them from my grave.

The primary motive behind krazee's admiration for Democratic Congressman Alan Grayson...

Remember last month when Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson made his all-too truthful statement about how the Republican's health care plan was basically to tell people - "don't get sick!" And their backup plan was, "if you do get sick, die quickly?"

And remember how the conservatards and the wing nuts stomped their little feet and screamed bloody murder about what a big ol' meanie Grayson was for picking on them and saying mean, bad things about them? And they demanded that Grayson's mommy and daddy Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid give Alan Grayson a spanking, make him grovel and beg forgiveness from the Republicans and send him to his room without supper?

And so what did Alan Grayson do? Well, to put it bluntly, he told the Republicans and Rush and Hannity and Beck and O'Reilly and the rest of the right-wing screechers, one and all, to go fuck themselves.

Remember that? I do. And I'll never forget it, because it was a classic lesson in how to deal with phony, asshole hypocrites.

And it's why I cheered Grayson on lustily.

And I did so and will do so again because of a long, long line of infinitely more vile statements made by conservatives such as the one this week from Republican Virginia Foxx (see yesterday post) who stated on the floor of the House, "health care reform is a bigger threat right now than any terrorist in any country."

And then today we have the assklown Republican from Georgia (notice how most of these rabid wing nut politicians are from the south?) Paul Broun stating (see video clip below) on the floor of the House that health care reform is going to "destroy America as we know it today."

Imagine that! Health care reform is going to destroy America! Our country has endured a Revolution, a civil war, 2 world wars, a nuclear-tipped cold war, umpteen run of the mill wars, a great depression (with maybe a 2nd in progress), and the election of a bumbling, dumb as a box of rocks puppet President (GW Bush) and his puppetmaster VP, the war-mongering real life Dr. StrangeLove Dick Cheney.

Imagine that!

We've survived all of that krap. Yet now here we stand -- on the brink of unbridled annihilation (if the wingnuts are to be believed) all because of a modest, albeit agressive effort by a bunch of dirty fucking hippies to provide basic, affordable health care to all American citizens. Who would have thunk it?

And that's why I cheer on the Alan Graysons. Not because he's a Democrat, but because he calls assholes like Virginia Foxx and Paul Broun assholes and when they bitch and moan about it and demand apologies he comes right back out and calls them knuckle-dragging, neanderthal assholes. Simple...As...That!

It's the end of the world as we know it . . . according to our inane media that is

I personally avoid cable television news and opinion shows like the plague. If I do watch any of it, it's usually a small clip on the web with specific subject material that either pleases me or abhors me. Generally though, I consider a steady diet of cable news to be detrimental to one's overall mental health, with clear linkage to permanent brain damage.

Jon Stewart, in this clip, amply demonstrates why I hold such a dismal view of the cable news industry and the toxic products they are peddling to the impressionable masses.

GOP Rep. : Health care reform is a bigger threat than any terrorist right now in any country!

Health care reform is a "bigger threat" than any terrorist right now in any country?

Really Congresswoman?

Is this what all my conservative friends truly believe as well?

If so, why aren't you all advocating for clandestine intelligence operations against the 60% of we Americans who are in favor of a public option in health care?

How about Gulags for us evil socialist liberals who believe that access to affordable health care is a basic human right?

How about mass roundups and public executions for anyone daring to publicly propagate the concept that it is immoral for an individual or a family to be financially ruined and made destitute by medical bills emanating from a catastrophic illness or injury?

Ladies and Gentlemen -- this is the degenerate, callous mindset of your modern-day Republican party/conservative movement in action and frankly, if you are in agreement with Rep. Foxx, I honestly would have a difficult time referring to you as a "fellow American."

The world's wealthiest welfare society . . .

Half of US kids will get food stamps, study says

By LINDSEY TANNER, AP Medical Writer

Monday, November 2, 2009

(11-02) 17:36 PST Chicago (AP) --

Nearly half of all U.S. children and 90 percent of black youngsters will be on food stamps at some point during childhood, and fallout from the current recession could push those numbers even higher, researchers say.

The estimate comes from an analysis of 30 years of national data, and it bolsters other recent evidence on the pervasiveness of youngsters at economic risk. It suggests that almost everyone knows a family who has received food stamps, or will in the future, said lead author Mark Rank, a sociologist at Washington University in St. Louis.

That seems to pretty much sum up where we are as a country doesn't it? Never enough money to seriously address endemic societal issues like poverty and homelessness and health care, but a veritable never ending supply of greenbacks for misguided military/industrial complex projects and wars and a free-flowing spigot of interest free bailout cash for the corporate and Wall Street hucksters and thieves.

Is it any wonder then that it's all beginning to crumble down around us in a slow motion implosion. And it's really difficult for me to wrap my head around the concept of a country that will see half of it's children on government welfare going around the world threatening other countries to clean up their acts or risk facing U.S. military intervention. There's something brazenly hypocritical about that.

A HEALTH CARE PLEDGE FOR CONSERVATIVES

by Larry S. Rolirad

As a Conservative who DOES NOT have Health Insurance:

I, ___________, as a conservative who DOES NOT have health care insurance, do hereby refuse all health care paid for by the government. I pledge if I become sick, or a member of my family becomes sick, that I will refuse to be treated by any doctor, hospital or emergency personnel if the cost for these services will in any way be subsidized by a state or federal government.

I, ___________, as a conservative who DOES NOT have insurance, do hereby pledge to wait one year from the time of my first symptoms until I go to the emergency room of a government funded county hospital because I believe the 45,000 people who die every year because of access to health care deserve to die, because they are really deadbeats who could afford health insurance if they wanted it.

I, ___________, as a conservative who DOES NOT have insurance, do hereby pledge to never accept any medical technologies, innovations, treatments or medications that were paid for, subsidized or developed using government funds because I believe them to be ’socialistic’ and therefor evil. I know capitalistic ‘for profit’ companies will always act in the best interests of human beings, and never attempt to profit off of a person who is sick or dying.

I, ___________, as a conservative who DOES NOT have insurance, do hereby pledge that if I am too sick to go to the hospital I will not call a government sponsored ‘911′ program, because I believe such emergency services to be ’socialistic’ and therefore ‘evil. I furthermore pledge to just sit in my house and die along with the other 45,000 people who die each year due to lack of access to health care if I cannot afford life-saving medical treatment.

As a Conservative who DOES HAVE have Health Insurance:

I, ___________, a conservative who HAS health care insurance, do hereby pledge to never disagree if my insurance company refuses to pay a valid claim, for I know they would never do anything to hurt another human being for money.

I, ___________, a conservative who HAS health care insurance, do hereby pledge to remain subservient to my insurance company and will never disagree if they refuse to pay for a valid claim by stating that it is related to a ‘pre-existing condition’, even if the condition has nothing to do with my current illness.

I, ___________, a conservative who HAS health care insurance, do hereby pledge to always agree with my insurance company even if they use some obscure loophole intentionally inserted into my policy to deceive me and to prevent me from getting the health care I need to remain alive.

I, ___________, a conservative who HAS health care insurance, do hereby pledge that I will not accept medical treatment until such treatment is first approved by an insurance representative, even if I know that the representative is rewarded financially for denying valid services to me or my family. I will readily and eagerly accept the decisions of the thousands of current ‘death panels’ used by insurance companies so they can make even bigger profits off of those they victimize.

I, ___________, a conservative who HAS health care insurance and believes in tort reform, hereby pledges to never hold an insurance company liable or to seek justice in a court of law, even if their acts are criminal, deceptive or if their dishonest acts lead to the death of one of my family members.

I, ___________, a conservative who HAS health care insurance, do hereby pledge to not accept medical treatment even if I need life saving emergency treatment if those treatments are not first approved by an insurance bureaucrat. I refuse to admit that insurance companies are already using ‘death panels’ to kill people for profit.

FINALLY, as a CONSERVATIVE:

I, ___________, as a conservative who believes everyone should be independent and that no one ever falls on hard times in their lives, do hereby pledge that if I break any of the pledges above and receive any medical care for me or my family that I will agree to sell my house, use my retirement, sell my automobiles, cash in my children’s college funds and use all of my assets to pay every dime of what I owe, even if my family and I are left destitute and homeless. I further pledge to repay every dime I make working at a burger joint or as a greeter at Walmart to first repay my medical bills before buying food or housing for my family. I further pledge to pay any interest rate on any balances due, because I believe corporations and banks should be allowed to charge anything they want, even interest rates of 30, 40 and 50%, rates even the Mafia never charged. I believe in unbridled capitalism and that companies should be allowed to do whatever they want, for I consider capitalism to be my ‘god’ and CEOs its disciples. I hereby further pledge to praise CEO salaries and bonuses even though I know that for every dollar they make is a dollar that doesn’t go to help the sick or dying. And because I was against all minimum wage increases in the past 40 years I further pledge to accept only $1.45 an hour for working at McDonalds or as a Walmart greeter, since it was the minimum wage in February 1970.

I, ___________, as a conservative, hereby pledge to have my parents, or other loved ones, refuse all health care they are currently receiving from any government program, such as Medicare or Medicaid, and I further pledge to pay for all my parent’s health bills. And I will further pledge to have my parents move in with me and give them 24 hour care instead of using any government subsidized nursing care or hospice care services, since I know such services are evil since they are ’socialistic’ and therefore evil.

I, ___________, as a conservative do hereby pledge I will continue my condemnations of the poor in the Charles Dickens story, “A Christmas Carol”, because I know Bob Cratchit’s family were lazy deadbeats who could pay for their own health care and gotten help for their son, Tiny Tim, if they wanted to. I believe Tiny Tim should be prevented from getting health care and die, because he is poor.

I, _________, as a conservative believe in individual rights for CEOs and business owners like Ebenezer Scrooge, but not for individual rights to life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness for those who are poor, downtrodden or oppressed. Also, because I believe the poor in the Bible were deadbeats, I will continue to condemn Jesus because he was an evil socialist because he healed the sick for free, he fed the hungry for free and he lifted the spirits of the downtrodden for free. I also condemn the Good Samaritan for not charging to help that poor, beaten man who was left for dead on the side of a lonely road. I believe that the priest and the temple assistant who first found the beaten man and left him for dead without helping him did the right thing and that the Good Samaritan was an evil socialist, because not only did the Good Samaritan help the beaten man, he even gave him money so he could feed and cloth himself.

I, _________, as a conservative further condemn Jesus for always attacking the rich and praising the poor, because I know CEOs and the wealthy are the true sons of god because, after all, look at how much god has rewarded them. I believe those on Wall Street deserve to make as much money as possible by using schemes and scams, like the guy who made 3 billion in 2008 alone. As a conservative I believe it is right that a person who makes 3 billion behind a computer producing nothing for his fellow man or society. I believe that Wall Street should be paid 86,000 times more than hard working teachers, firefighters, police officers and nurses, all of whom actually contribute to society and help their fellow man.

I, _________, as a conservative who always trusts the government to start wars, trusts government to bomb people, trusts government to spy on people, trusts government to incarcerate people without charges, trusts government to torture people, trusts government to arrest people without warrants and trusts government to use secret wiretaps on people, do hereby pledge to continue to distrust government to help heal sick and dying Americans.

I fear government intrusion into my life, but I cheer on corporate intrusions on my privacy, my livelihood, and my life. I fear any government attempt to heal people, yet trust government to kill, maim, torture, arrest, incarcerate and execute people.

I, ________, as a conservative, make these pledges in the name of the ‘god of unbridled, unregulated capitalism’ and in the names of its disciples, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck. Amen and amen.

This is your brain on drugs kids . . .

Every time El Rushbo opens his mouth these days, I'm ever more convinced that the loads of hillbilly heroin (Oxycontin) that he was shoveling into his gaping maw all those years has definitely destroyed a major percentage of his already limited number of brain cells and rendered his cognitive thinking abilities as useless as his Viagra starved pecker.

The Limblob belched out this idiocy about his darling and wet dream favorite for President in 2012 Sarah Palin in an interview on Fox:
"One thing I do not do is follow conventional wisdom, and the conventional wisdom of Sarah Palin is "She's not smart enough. She needs to bone up on the issues. She's a little unsophisticated. Alaska, Where's that?, [She] doesn't have the pedigree,'" Limbaugh told Fox News' Chris Wallace. "She's the only thing that provided a spark for the Republican Party. This is not an endorsement, but I do have profound respect for Sarah Palin. There are not very many politicians who have been through what she's been put through and still able to smile and be ebullient and upbeat. This woman, I think, is tough," he said.

Really Rusty? Really? Take a gander at some of the "sophisticated", "smart", and "ebullient" comments your darling Sarah has produced in her amazingly short career in the political limelight:

1. "As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where– where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border." --Sarah Palin, explaining why Alaska's proximity to Russia gives her foreign policy experience, interview with CBS's Katie Couric, Sept. 24, 2008 (Watch video clip)

2. "I think on a national level your Department of Law there in the White House would look at some of the things that we've been charged with and automatically throw them out." --Sarah Palin, referring to a department that does not exist while attempting to explain why as president she wouldn't be subjected to the same ethics investigations that compelled her to resign as governor of Alaska, ABC News interview, July 7, 2009

3. "We believe that the best of America is not all in Washington, D.C. ... We believe that the best of America is in these small towns that we get to visit, and in these wonderful little pockets of what I call the real America, being here with all of you hard working very patriotic, um, very, um, pro-America areas of this great nation." --Sarah Palin, speaking at a fundraiser in Greensboro, N.C., Oct. 16, 2008

4. "Ohh, good, thank you, yes." --Sarah Palin, after a notorious Canadian prank caller complimented her on the documentary about her life, Hustler's porn movie "Nailin Paylin," Nov. 1, 2008 (Read more about the prank call, watch the video).

5. "Well, let's see. There's ― of course in the great history of America there have been rulings that there's never going to be absolute consensus by every American, and there are those issues, again, like Roe v. Wade, where I believe are best held on a state level and addressed there. So, you know, going through the history of America, there would be others but ―" --Sarah Palin, unable to name a Supreme Court decision she disagreed with other than Roe vs. Wade, interview with Katie Couric, CBS News, Oct. 1, 2008 (Watch video clip)

6. "All of 'em, any of 'em that have been in front of me over all these years." --Sarah Palin, unable to name a single newspaper or magazine she reads, interview with Katie Couric, CBS News, Oct. 1, 2008 (Watch video clip)
