Billions and billions and billions and billions . . .

An additional $60 billion is expected in a supplemental request after the November elections. According to the Defense Department, the cost of containing Saddam Hussein over 12 years was only $30 billion."

Reading that opening statement from this article makes me want to weep. How we as a people could just stand by and let a bunch of crooked oilmen and arms dealers run this country's finances into the ground and expend the lives of our hero soldiers like they're worth nothing is beyond my comprehension.
