America's Future in Iraq . . . . ummm -- what future?

The fact that liberal Democrat Ted Kennedy authored this speech is sure to set the conservative, right-wing gasbags to howling and frothing at the mouth.

Of course for all their blathering and screeching, one thing will remain sure - - they cannot refute (without resorting to lies or character assassination that is) the charges Kennedy makes against their cult leader Bush and his bumbling squad of neo-con ass wipes.

Here's an excerpt:

"No matter how many times the Administration denies it, there is no question they misled the nation and led us into a quagmire in Iraq. President Bush rushed to war on the basis of trumped up intelligence and a reckless argument that Iraq was a critical arena in the global war on terror, that somehow it was more important to start a war with Iraq than to finish the war in Afghanistan and capture Osama bin Laden, and that somehow the danger was so urgent that the U.N. weapons inspectors could not be allowed time to complete their search for weapons of mass destruction."

" . . . As in Vietnam, truth was the first casualty of this war. Nearly 1400 Americans have died. More than 10,000 have been wounded, and tens of thousands of Iraqi men, women, and children have been killed. The weapons of mass destruction weren’t there, but today 157,000 Americans are."

How many more young American kids have to die to cover up for Bush's lying and bungling? A hundred? A thousand?? Or as in Vietnam -- 50,000???

Oh how I'd love to smack a combat helmet on the heads of war cheerleaders like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, and all the squawking-heads at FOX News, and ship each and every one of their yellow-bellied, plastic flag-waving asses off to the front lines in Iraq. Knowing what cowards they all truly are though, I'm certain they'd either go AWOL or find some lame-ass excuse to get out of combat duty.

Anyhow, Kennedy's speech lays it all out on the line. I invite my conservative friends to read it, if they have the guts to, and then drop me a line telling me what's not true about it.
