The Game is Over . . . .

Thu Mar 4, 6:20 pm ET

National GOP leaders are doing damage control today after a Politico scoop lifted the curtain on the party's plan to tap voters' "fear" in the coming campaign season. The PR problem started when an absent-minded attendee at the Republican National Committee (RNC) confab on February 18 in Boca Grande, Florida, left a 72-page document from its 2010 strategizing session in a hotel room. Today, Politico reporter Ben Smith's expose is making headlines.

The memo tracks the fundraising presentation that RNC Finance Director Rob Bickhart delivered to the RNC's $2,500-a-head annual retreat. The best path to victory in 2010, the document advises, is for Republican candidates to depict themselves as the best hope for resisting the "trending toward socialism" taking shape in a Democrat-dominated Washington.

The presentation portrays the Obama administration as "The Evil Empire," including the now-infamous image of President Obama made over in the makeup Heath Ledger used in his performance as the Joker in the 2008 Batman movie "The Dark Knight." House Speaker Nancy Pelosi appears as Cruella De Vil from "101 Dalmatians," and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is the witless cartoon dog Scooby-Doo. The memo candidly confirms that the aim of such caricature is to amp up "fear" among the GOP's conservative base. The memo also makes fun of major RNC donors, categorizing some as "ego-driven" and easily pacified with "tchochkes" (a Slavic word for toys).

The embrace of harsh rhetoric and the swipes at the large donor set seem to signal the GOP establishment's growing comfort with employing tactics associated with the activist Tea Party movement—and with plying Tea Party sympathizers for cash.

I hate to be the type of person that says "I told you so" --- but I fucking told you so.

We now have indisputable evidence that the GOP has from day one not put forth a scintilla of honest effort to deal with the Obama administration and the Democrats in a reasonable and bipartisan manner on any issue! It's all right there in the RNC's leaked Power Point presentation, for everyone who isn't blind, to see plain as goddamn day.

It's way, way past time for Obama, Reid and Pelosi to slam the proverbial bipartisan door in the faces of the Republicans and if they try to stick their foot in the crack of the door to keep it open -- slam it on their fucking foot in hopes of breaking it.

This ridiculous, bipartisanship kabuki dance that Mr. Nice Guy Obama has been playing with the intransigent assholes in the GOP leadership ranks has been a colossal waste of time and is preventing this country from dealing with a myriad of important domestic issues that are critical to getting America back on the road to economic prosperity.

The GOP sons of bitches sure as hell weren't interested in bipartisanship when they were in power for 6 years during the Bush reign of terror. For the fucking life of me I cannot understand why the Democrats could be of the belief that they suddenly had a change of heart and now wanted to work hand in hand across the aisle. Stupid S-U-C-K-E-R Democrats. I'm sick of them almost as much as the Republigoons.

Both Reid and Pelosi have been tremendously disappointing as party leaders. And don't give me that bullshit about how Democrats are of varying levels of political ideology and thus harder to gain consensus from. True leaders lead and true leaders know how to twist arms, threaten, punish and reward and eventually get shit done. Reid and Pelosi do not seem to possess these necessary skills needed to make the Democrats an effective majority party. Dump 'em I say -- they've had their opportunity to make a difference and have failed.

If it were up to me, I'd put somebody like Alan Grayson in Pelosi's house majority leader position and either Al Franken or Bernie Sanders in Reid's senate majority position. I damn well guarantee you'd see some progress pretty damn quick with gutty fighters like that in charge.

Regardless, it is evidently clear now from this leaked RNC War room document that the GOP has not ever intended nor do they intend to work with Obama and the Dems in any way, shape or form any manner resembling bipartisanship. It is time for Obama and the Dems to cut their losses, end this idiotic game and just fucking go it alone. And if the Repukes squeal like stuck pigs, tell them to fuck off and die. Simple as that.
